the taste of spring
upon our lips
exchanging kisses
in the din
of an unknown world
lambent and
luminous
dawn is breaking
through the gathered
crowds
like
a new dimension
ruptured
transgressions in
new colours wake
dreaming
stone conviction
as we
await the summer
pulses, stepping up
to speed
with the song
of muscles grinding
pavement down
into a bed of
newborn flowers
where we will shed
our skins
and make love to
the stars
the taste of spring
as waves crash in
upon the gates of
here and now
transgressions in
new colours wake
burning
stone conviction
sharing
kisses
with sun
paradise
burns in your eyes
and paradise
is waiting
paradise
(latent) burns in your eyes
trapped in a seed
(of possibility)
the taste of spring
as gates crash in
upon the face of
here and now
and paradise
burns in our eyes
and paradise
emerges
from echoing of
voices
shouting
in the sun-baked
streets
upon our
wings of
fire.
I've enjoyed The Wake since the 90s. The new album feels like a trip to right where they left off! Goth Rock at it's best! I can't wait to see where they go from here!! aklosowski22
“Strangers” is packed with wonderfully menacing electro-goth—late-night horror movie music for vampire dance parties. Bandcamp New & Notable May 8, 2023
An early ’90s cult classic of goth/dark folk gets a vinyl reissue, its haunting songs as gripping and resonant as ever. Bandcamp New & Notable Aug 15, 2022
Perfectly gloomy Norwegian goth/post-punk, anchored by a punchy rhythm section and driven by chiming guitar lines and morose vocals. Bandcamp New & Notable Feb 16, 2021
New wave of Gothic Rock at it's finest. This band has top level talent from well renowned acts involved so wasn't the least bit surprised upon hearing the opening track. If you miss late 80's to mid 90's gothic rock bands, I can't recommend this one enough. m4rkos1334
